Whats New..??
Nothing new here, same old – same old. Just working away and completing all my pending work before I leave for my holidays. Its is so interesting to see the shift in the blogging trends. Very few of the bloggers from Dubai have to say about the massive construction, traffic, Jumeirah Beautification Project, Jumeirah Janes, etc. Talking about construction, you should see the massive monster machines that they have installed at the Burjuman junction for the construction of the Dubai Metro. They look like straight out of a Tom Cruise Sci-Fi movie. For some reason, I find them really gripping. But it has made traffic in that area terrible. Bur Dubai has got its own ‘ Beautification Project’ underway, as you must have noticed if you have been there recently.
Went to see IIFA at the Dubai Airport Expo and also the post party, which was at the Grand Hyatt with the stars. Now that was some experience! The event was really good and I enjoyed it a lot. At first I was seated in the press area for about half hour and then later my boss arranged a VIP pass for me, so I moved right in the front. At the post party I met so many celebrities from the Indian Film Industry. We danced, ate and drank and danced a little more again till the wee hours of the morning. Overall it was a great experience. I read in the newspapers that travelers in Dubai would have to be trained how to use the Dubai Metro before they actually commence using it. I think they should also be trained how to attend events like IIFA or any other big gigs. If it’s once in a lifetime opportunity for you, same is the case for me too. So if you are seated behind, in front, next to or any where close to me, make sure that you are F**kin quiet and don’t step in and out to use the washroom or to buy food/drinks over and over again. Do that before you enter because it’s really annoying. And don’t pass stupid comments while someone is on stage saying something, because I am trying to listen and your comment can wait after he/she on stage is done. If you are seated in front of me, don’t F**kin hold you camera up so high that its in my face and specially if you are going to record the entire event, you cheapo!!!
Ah! I feel so good now! Just to make you all jealous I met Jean Claude Van Damme at the post party!! Other stars that I met at the post award party included Vidya Balan, Javed Jaffery, Vinod Khanna, Rahul Khanna, Rishi Kapoor, Kabir & Adam Bedi, Neha Oberoi, Dj Akhtar, Javed Akhtar, Shabana Azmi and a few more.
Everyday I reach home from work, log on to the Internet and search fro places I can visit while I am in Singapore, Tokyo, Melbourne and Sydney. And keep changing my itinerary everyday. Don’t worry; it will stop closer to my day of departure from Dubai. Still loads of things to buy and discard before I leave.
So what’s new with you ?
